Why Old Swan travellers choose us

Old Swan runs on Prescot Road — the long shopping stretch where the neighbourhood does its errands — and we think a travel vaccination should be exactly that kind of job: booked today, done in half an hour, ticked off the list. The clinic is a straight 10–12 minute run down the A57 and Kensington.

Appointments are led by pharmacist Independent Prescriber Muneer Saleh at Cares Chemist, a GPhC-registered pharmacy on Myrtle Street (premises 1114685). No GP referral is needed, same-day slots run on just 2 hours' notice, and when you have your vaccines with us the consultation is free — the clinic holds a 4.9 rating from 200+ Google patients.

Everything is stocked on site: hepatitis A and B, typhoid, rabies, dengue, Japanese encephalitis, tick-borne encephalitis, chikungunya, meningitis ACWY for pilgrims, cholera and whooping cough. Malaria tablets — including Maloff Protect — are prescribed by our Independent Prescriber and dispensed in the same visit.

From the Prescot Road shops it's one straight run — the A57 into Kensington and down to the Georgian Quarter, 10–12 minutes door to door. Old Swan patients fold us into an errand run: park nearby on-street, 20–30 minutes, done.

Travel clinic in Old Swan

Old Swan runs on Prescot Road — the long, practical shopping stretch where the neighbourhood gets things done — and we think travel vaccination should be exactly that kind of job: booked like an errand, finished in half an hour, ticked off the list. The clinic is a straight 10–12 minute run down the A57 and Kensington from the Prescot Road shops, with on-street parking nearby at our end, and same-day appointments if the holiday countdown got away from you.

Travel vaccines in Liverpool: what you need to know

Liverpool is a travelling city — students leave on electives and gap years from both universities, families make long visits to relatives overseas, pilgrims prepare for Hajj and Umrah, and cruise ships and John Lennon Airport carry the rest. Different trips, different risks: a month living with family abroad needs different cover from a week in a resort. Every consultation at our Liverpool travel clinic is built on NaTHNaC's country pages and Fit for Travel, not a one-size checklist.

Common destinations

Package favourites — Turkey, Egypt, Tunisia — mostly call for hepatitis A, sometimes with typhoid. Asia long-hauls step it up: hepatitis A and typhoid as the base, rabies for longer or more rural trips, Japanese encephalitis where region and season warrant it. Pilgrims need meningitis ACWY for the Saudi visa — vaccine and certificate in the same visit; see NaTHNaC's Hajj and Umrah factsheet. For Africa and the Caribbean we sort the malaria plan — tablets including Maloff Protect dispensed on the day — and advise on yellow fever entry requirements for your route as part of the consultation. Some itineraries also justify the cholera vaccine; the full list is on our vaccines page.

NHS or private?

Given enough notice, your GP can provide a free tetanus–diphtheria–polio booster and, for some destinations, hepatitis A and typhoid — the NHS travel vaccinations guide shows which. Rabies, Hajj meningitis ACWY, Japanese encephalitis and hepatitis B for travel are private everywhere. We work to the UKHSA Green Book; current rates are on the booking page.

Why Old Swan travellers book with us

No fuss: one visit covers assessment, jabs, malaria tablets and certificates in 20–30 minutes; you don't need a GP referral; the consultation is free when you have your vaccines; and the clinic is open until 6pm on weekdays plus Saturday mornings, so it slots into a normal week. Rated 4.9 by 200+ patients on Google.
