Wavertree sends us two very different kinds of traveller. Every summer the student houses between Picton Clock and Wavertree High Street empty out as housemates book group trips through Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia — usually at a few weeks' notice, with a group chat full of contradictory vaccine advice. With enough lead time your GP can give a free tetanus–diphtheria–polio booster and, for some destinations, hepatitis A and typhoid — the NHS travel vaccinations page explains which.
